Handheld clothes steamer

I hate ironing so I’m thinking about getting an handheld steamer. There’s so many options on amazon! Can anyone recommend one that they have used?

Many Thanks :)

Ohh, wanting the same answer! Thank you OP. :)

Did you ever buy one OP? I found this post while also looking for the same answer! I love crisp cotton but hate ironing...

I bought a little cheap one from amazon, about £15, brilliant for taking on holiday and decrinkling lightweight clothing but not for pressing heavy duty clothing. It won't make anything crisp as there's no weight in it. Don't EVER put that fragranced ironing water in it, it fizzes up a propels the water across the room!

I've worked in fashion retail and we used industrial steamers on clothes to get packing creases out after delivery, and although faster than the amazon cheapy, it would be no good for stuff like sheets, or shirts where you want a crisp collar. We did still have an old-school iron and board in the store for that kind of stuff.

Why not get a powerful steam generator iron, then you can steam hanging garments and press the heavier stuff like jeans?

I got a cheap Lidl one as I had some creased velvet items - it's good for those and for light things but useless for thicker cotton, shirts etc. I'm now considering a proper iron and ironing board.

I also have one that cost me about £17 in Lidl; I adore it Smile

There are certain things for which I get the iron out – but since getting the steamer, they are few and far between.
