Designer Sunglasses?

Hi all

Not sure if I’m in the right section but here we go (and please bare with me if I’m not).

My husband turns 30 in a few weeks and I am stuck on a gift for him.
He is quite fond of sunglasses and has quite a collection (none designer) but he has always wanted to own a pair of designer glasses.

I, however, have no idea of trends, what’s cool and what is a reasonable amount to spend on a “decent looking” pair of designer glasses.
My budget can stretch to £100, maybe £120 at a push.

But I’m now stuck on which designer brand to buy him. He’s not particularly into any specific brands.

The ones I considered were:
Louis Vuitton
Gucci
Prada
Versace

I think I like this one but unsure of materials used and all this polarised business!

Any help or advice appreciated!

Thank you!

Probably best to ask this in style & beauty I'd say!

trunumber · 02/12/2020 19:38

I don't like the Versace ones, I think they're a bit dated I'm afraid

TimetohittheroadJack · 02/12/2020 19:42

I’d go for Prada. Gucci,& LV have more fakes, Versace is ok but not as posh as Prada.

justsotiredallthetime · 02/12/2020 19:42

I would look at Ray Bans. The Way-farer style are about £120. Stylish and don't date.

justsotiredallthetime · 02/12/2020 19:44

Polarised are more expensive. A couple of my Raybans are polarised but I do have a pair that aren't. The sun on a polarised pair are less harsh to the eye but you'll likely exceed your budget if you go for this option.

Thank you all!
Are ray-bans supposed to be a “cool” brand??

Yep definitely raybans and yes classy as "cool" dh has the polarised aviators. He had the non polarised version and lost them I replaced them on Father's Day with the polarised ones and he said they are well well worth paying a bit more for.

I love Sun God sunglasses. I breakable and you can customise the glass tints.

I also love my ray bans too.
