Baby Born, Annabelle or Chou Chou? Which is the best?

I want to buy one of these dolls for my dd (aged 4 ) as her Christmas present. Does anyone have any recommendations as to which one is the best?- (they all seem equally hideous to me!!) Are there any others which are better?

Annabel is dd's pride and joy for over a year now!

dd had baby born which was okay - eats, shits etc. apparently now you can put the little mite in the bath or something. I would have preferred her to have Annabelle

Baby Born doesn't need batteries but dd who is 3 isn't really that interested in her many functions yet anyway. We already had a doll which was interactive so didn't feel the need for a Baby Annabel yet.

Thanks for this - I did think that Chou Chou looked the most attractive of the three, but there doesn't seem to be much between them.

Think Chou Chou and Annabelle have pretty much the same face. Baby Born is quiet ugly I think. Annabelle is still a regular feature of daily life in this house - still eats and comes out to the pub with us. Has had her for 3 years and my daughter's 7.5. No sign of her demise yet

Baby Annabel has completely confirmed my decision not to have another child. After an afternoon of listening to her cooing, babbling, burping, sucking, crying and blowing raspberries, my nerves are in shreds. Be warned!

I did this thread recently - we went for baby annabel and we all rather like her, her noises arent too annoying and both dds (2 and 5) are quite happy to play with her switched off.

None of the 3 are going to win prizes in a beautiful baby doll contest but Baby Born has the sweetest expression and looks the least witless!Smile

It's quite funny because I was asking everyone the same question exactly a year ago. We eventually settled for Baby Born and DD loves her to bits. (DS is nicknamed "Uncle Nicholas" for the Baby Born and I am "Grandma" - Shock)!

Oh god, someone bought Lottie an Annabel for Xmas. Heaven help us.

Hulababy · 10/12/2004 09:53

My DD has a Baby Annabell and adores her. Can be annoying but luckily DD hasn't quite figured out where the on/off button is :) Got her last year and she has been played with almost every day since. Oh, and we haven't had to replace batteries in the past year so far either.

My brother is getting her the Baby Born this Christmas, as she wanted a friend for "Baby Bell". From DD's point of view, I am sure she will love this too - can go in the bath (can actually buy a bath/shower for it) and is eats, drinks, wets (and more - yuk!), etc. And doesn't need any batteries!

No idea about Chou Chou

Hulababy · 10/12/2004 09:54

Oh, and Baby Born is 25% off in Argos at the moment.

littledonkeyrach · 10/12/2004 10:14

DD1 has baby born and baby born ethnic doll. She adores them, has had the original one for a yr. She still doesn't realise it's many functions - hahaha!!

fruitcake · 11/12/2004 20:25

Honestly, why would anyone want a doll that sh**s?!

Hulababy · 11/12/2004 20:56

That is totally lost on me too!!! I can honestly say that the food that enables this feature will not be replaced!

SecondhandRose · 11/12/2004 21:14

We have Chou Chou and Annabell and they are exactly the same doll to look at. We can only tell them apart as Annabell as lost some of her eyelashes. I would say the Annabell range is the prettiest.

I've bought baby lucy from ELC for dd. couldn't stand to have a doll that 'does' stuff!
