Cabin bed/ High sleeper (mid height)

We have decided to get one cabing bed (hopefully taking advantage of the black Friday offers). It would be for a tall teenager (adult size). We don't have high ceilings so it cannot be "very high". I am considering these middle sleepers with lots of storage underneath (drawers, shelves..).
Where would be a good place to look at that you would find good quality/ decent price beds, that you would recommend?.
Any specific models that you love?
I am a bit lost so I would love to have some recommendations please.

Don’t get one from Argos. We did, and regretted it. It was awful to assemble, and holes were in the wrong places for screws. Nightmare.

I got an IKEA one for my modern ceiling height house.

I thought it would be ok as there was enough room to crawl from the ladder to lie with your head on the pillow but it was too claustrophobic.

Had to saw a bit off the legs with a hacksaw!

I’d suggest you sit ds on the floor and measure how tall he is from bum to top of head when seated. And work from there as to how much headroom he’s feel comfortable with above him. Then add that to the bed height (including mattress height) and use that measurement to work out what beds fit the bill.

I wouldn't recommend it! When ours were younger they shared a room and their toys started taking overs so we bought mid sleepers so they had their own play space underneath. Great at first but makes bed-changing a nightmare and they are usually not as stable as a solidly built lower bed. As soon as they decided they wanted to have their own rooms we got their solid bunk beds back out with new mattresses and both said how much they preferred just being able to flop into bed. Also you can have really deep comfy mattresses with low beds but not the high ones. And I find it much easier making them! Now DS12 is probably going to need a double bed soon. He's bigger than me now!
