oh no! sorry you had a crappy end to your day! Were you all ok though?
( and at meetup without me! )

Skyler · 18/10/2007 19:45

I am pretty sure the Britax ones fit all cars though some models need a top tether too. The Maxi cosi ones DO NOT fit all cars.
Will try to find out more.

LadyTophamHatt · 18/10/2007 19:48

yes all ok, well i assume anyway.
ds4 has been screaming all afternoon, I hope its not because of the accident.

he's fine if he's being entertained.

Now need anew car seat because it was his 1st day in the big forward facing chair. No visible damage to it (or our car, the other car was F*cked though. Our tow bar took the full force) but they say to changea carseat if its been in aaccident, don't they?

This is why I need to know aboutt the ISOFIX thing....

oh thanks skyler, that will be great....

Sorry you had a bad day
I think all isofix seats are compatible with all isofix systems BUT some require an extra top tether or 'foot' depending on the car. Check with the seat manufacturer - I think Britax state what you need on their website hth

LadyTophamHatt · 18/10/2007 19:54

our car isn't listed on the britas website claire.

Its most annoying because I think a bit of retail therepy would make me feel 100000 times better.

Is it a Ford Focus S-max??

Skyler · 18/10/2007 19:57

I have found the Ford Focus S-max 2006 + on the britax site???

LadyTophamHatt · 18/10/2007 19:57

No, Just S-max.

Its the new 7seater thingamijig.

Right I have got the blurb from our Isofix carseat in the car and there are only 2 Ford's on it. Sorry I appear to have misled you.....

Skyler · 18/10/2007 20:02

That is utterly crap isn't it? The Focus S-max had no isofix matches I am afraid.

Skyler · 18/10/2007 20:05

The info that came with our car seat is from nearly two years ago, so no S-Max then. Sorry I am not actually helping. It doesn't look good for the Britax one then.......

Thansk loopy. I've given up trying to make sense of it now.

Will look again tomorrow, also need to check with the insurnace to see if its covered too. I asked earlier but DH is doubting me() and so I wantto make sure it will be.

OK Lady here we go...Loopy was talking about me and my S-Max!!

I've had the Britax and the Maxi-Cosi isofix seats fit checked today and.........

The Britax fits, the Maxi-Cosi doesn't!!!!

More details...

Britax have 2, the duo and the explora. Fundamentally the same seat but the explora is a bit newer therefore comfier and has the extra stability leg (idea developed and proved useful by Maxi-Cosi). They are however keeping the duo because it fits more cars...the reason being...the leg!!!and also why the Maxi_cosi Priori fix doesn't fit the S-max. Our cars have under floor storage infront of both isofix seats. The leg on the Maxi-Cosi needs to go onto the bottom of the under storage area and the leg isn't long enough where as the Britax Explora leg can be positioned in such a way that it doesn't need to go into the storage box.[annoyed emoticon]

So to cut a long story short...The Britax Duo and the Britax Explora fit, the Maxi-Cosi Priori-fix does not fit!!!

If you need any more info, you can email me at [email protected]
