Size 2 wellies for tiny 19month old?

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get some size 2 wellies for my 19month old? She's still fitting into 6-9month clothing, and deserves to jump in some muddy puddles like Peppa!

I've checked online, saw a pair on amazon but really struggling to find any others. They seem to all start from size 3.

Help!

I was going to say I’m not sure they’re commonly made.

Would a pair of size 3 & extra warm socks be an option?

I’m sure for all 3 of my DCs their very first shoes were size 3 or above.

We got size 2 wellies from ASDA, though it was quite a few years ago now but I do remember them being hard to find and being surprised when I found them.

If you don't find them, just get size 3 and wear big socks, it's not like wellies are proper fitted shoes. Their feet grow so quickly at that age they'll fit properly soon enough anyway.

Any good?

Elmo311 · 19/11/2020 22:25

@CoffeeRunner I can definitely try that and see, she's just SO tiny I don't want her to be struggling to walk in them!
But It might be worth a go!

@xyzandabc I may have to try the size 3. I'm thinking she doesn't grow that quickly as she's still in 6-9 month clothing. Wish she did though!

@Hercwasonaroll Thank you for taking the time to search for me and post the link!
I like them, they start at size 3 though from what I can see.

Ive found the Crocs ones are good because they are tight at the ankles and don’t fall off.
On the other end of the scale they were really good when my 19 month old wasn’t walking because she could crawl in them and they stayed on even though they were big on the foot.

Elmo311 · 19/11/2020 22:32

@Brownfrown Thank you! I'll check them out now

I'd put insoles and thick socks in a size 3.

Heyheyitsanotherday · 19/11/2020 22:34

I’m with you! Had the same issue with my now 4 year old. Really struggled to find wellies small enough for her feet as a toddler! We end up using a size 3 with about 3 pairs of socks 🙈 So cute when they’re toddling about and jumping into puddles and mud! Their little faces 🥰 hope you manage to find some small ones!

Seriously79 · 19/11/2020 22:38

I found size 4 on Amazon.

Bluebell75 · 19/11/2020 22:45

Amazon have some, the brand is Nasogetch. I haven't tried them as they weren't around when I needed them a few years ago. I found jojo maman Bebe size 3 wellies and their welly socks worked ok.

Squidwitch · 19/11/2020 22:50

We had the same issue, especially with walking shoes, everything was aimed at non walking at size two, but did get some from John Lewis. Couldn't find any wellies at all, but think he had bigger ones with two pairs of socks! Also, if yours follows this trend, mare finding school shoes, he's in reception and now a size 7, but most school shoes start at 8 or nine, so if your little one follows suit, get them early if you see them!

andadietcoke · 19/11/2020 22:52

I got size twos from a random tiny outdoors shop in the town I live in. I also looked at waterproof over shoe type things - might have been called Bogz or similar?

Elmo311 · 19/11/2020 22:57

@Heyheyitsanotherday So good to know I'm not alone! 🥰 thank you. Looks like I may have to look for some thick socks then!

@Bluebell75 Thank you, I'll take a look at them. Tempted by Jojo but the wellies have had some bad reviews about durability. Hmm. Might try to get the welly socks though if they have them in a smaller size.

@Squidwitch Thanks for the heads up! I hadn't even thought that far ahead 😅

Small kids ey?! So much trouble 💓

Next used to start at a 2

BeaufortScale · 20/11/2020 06:55

We used Stonz- really waterproof and they’re flexible with two elastics to hold them on, so they fit nicely. My tiny footed dd fell over in normal wellies, but these worked well.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 20/11/2020 07:24

Have you tried Jojo? I managed to get very small wellies for dc3 from there when was little.

SendHelp30 · 20/11/2020 07:28

@Squidwitch that must just be boys shoes? DD started at nursery with a uniform the term after her 3rd birthday; she was a shoe size 6 and there was lots of choice of school shoe.

SendHelp30 · 20/11/2020 07:28

Try size 3 with thick socks. The Hunter socks work for my DS

Squidwitch · 20/11/2020 08:09

Yes, that was boys, maybe girls shoes do start earlier, which is odd really because at that age there doesn't seem to be much difference in the size between sexes, but overall in one class size they is a huge range of child sizes

SendHelp30 · 20/11/2020 09:28

@Squidwitch I have 1 girl and 2 boys and find there is a lot more clothing & shoe choice for girls in general in comparison to boys. It’s difficult!
