Which buggy? Maclaren Techno XT or Silver Cross Pop

I've got some John Lewis vouchers to spend and want to put them towards a lightweight buggy which for the moment I will only use for travelling until my DD grows out of her Silver Cross Linear Freeway pram. However my Mum lives in spain and we will be going over every 6-8 weeks starting when she is 10 weeks old (she is 7 weeks now).

Anyone have any opinions on which one I should buy? The Maclaren is 159 plus footmuff and the Silver cross 99 plus footmuff.

Cheers for any advice.

I'm sure someone will come along soon who actually owns one of these (I don't yet) but every bit of buggy research I've ever done seems to point to the Maclaren being "the one" - and all my friends with toddlers seem to have them. She can lie flat in it but it will go on to last through toddler years...

Not sure which, but bear in mind that airlines are notorious for chucking buggies about and causing a lot of damage. So don't go for anything too dear - or maybe take one over to your mum's and leave it there?

I have had two technos now, they are very good and durable buggys on the whole. We used our current one when ds2 was 8 weeks old and he was very comfortable in it indeed.

I have the Techno XT - my friend has the Pop - hers is gubbed - veers to the left all the time! She wished she had bought the Techno. You should be able to get the XT for £135 without the footmuff. I have a fleece footmuff that works fine. For such a wee baby you might want to get a buggy sheepskin - that would be really cosy.

Go for the Techno it is worth the extra money - much more solid - nice flat recline for sleeping in.

I love my Techno.

One important point that might be the clincher is that, given that you will be in Spain and it will be more sunny!, it is worth noting that the Techno has a "double sized hood that zips out so you get double the shade - really good expecially when the baby is sleeping.

That's what sold it for me..

Also - I too bought my buggy for trips abroad - I also have Buzz. But use the Techno 90% of the time now. My Buzz just seems so cumbersome in comparision and my DS is very comfy in the Techno.
