Will Brexit make new cars even more expensive?

We're looking for a car (most likely second hand) but have been talking to the dealers to find out about the options we should consider and they seem to think that Brexit might mean hikes in taxes on new cars.

Sales talk or true?

I think that the consensus is that Brexit is going to make everything more expensive (except potentially the imported chlorinated chicken from the US).

yes perhaps you are right. I just thought new cars can't afford to go up too much in price right?

I don't know hopefully someone in the industry will answer. It may depend where the cars are being produced? If import tariffs increase the prices will in all likelihood increase.

yes hopefully. Its a tough questions I guess

Maybe, maybe not.

The only certainty is that it won't make them cheaper.
