Got mine in an independent baby shop; phone around?

pixiefish · 20/10/2004 18:11

mothercare this is sold out in my local store but they have other designs

Delovely · 20/10/2004 18:15

Don't you have to wash those ones every time you use them? The 'taffeta' ones are kind of wipe-clean / rinse-through. Would I have to have 3 jersey ones per day?!

H&M have something similar in their baby section in clear plastic with a pattern on.

Delovely · 20/10/2004 18:22

Don't suppose they sell online?

Mothercare do long sleved bibs.

treacletart · 20/10/2004 21:21

I hunted for ages for long sleeved bibs in bright colours without cutesy motifs or stupid slogans. I bought 4 beautiful bibs in lovely colours from trufflebuggy (they wash well too) Anyway, I think she's a one girl band and its good to give enterprising mums a plug, she does clothes too, including trousers designed to fit nicely over cloth-nappied bottoms....

I got mine from John Lewis. They are terry, backed with something waterproof, I think. I don't use them anymore. You can have them for the postage. Just cat me.

hill · 21/10/2004 08:33

Have you tried Baby Bjorn? I think you can order from them in the US too.

Thanks so much Sofia! Have CAT-ed you. And thanks everyone else for the info.

Any thoughts on the washing problem? Those of you who use non-wipe-clean bibs, how many do you get through a day? And so how many do you own?!!!

I've been getting by on 2 of the 'taffeta' ones, rinsing them after each meal and washing them about once a week (which is why they're now looking a bit grotty and I need replacements!).

Delovely · 21/10/2004 12:51

Sorry guys I changed my nickname temporarily. That's me thanking you below Sofia!

You can get kooshies ones from Jojo Maman: here and supposedly they are in stock. These are washable in washing machine but also "rinse down".

jane313 · 21/10/2004 19:38

I got my first one from blooming marveloous it was an american brand call bumkins. It was great because you could wipe it down or even wash it after lunch and it would be dry by teatime. It got too small so I got one in John Lewis but it was like shower curtain material and food sort of slid off it. Then I bought a babybjorn one but it doesn't dry in time for tea.
