i have hotslings non-adjustable pouch for DD2 ( 4 months and over 18lbs.) How much fabric should be behind baby, i.e next to my body, when baby is in front carry/buddha type position? I feel that there's v.little fabric behind DD2 but don't think pouch is too small as it comes down to navel when baby is in it.

Not much help but I found that too with my hotslings pouch. I never got on with it and my LO didn't seem to like it. Ended up getting a mei tai instead and love it.

I'm wearing in hip position now, but don't recall there was much fabric behind ds2. He loved it in that position although I find hip more comfortable. Are you not comfortable? Does he not seem comfortable? I've found it's worth taking those extra few minutes folding it and putting on - makes all the difference in the carry even tho I do it every single day! I tried 3 hotslings before I got the size right and it should definitely be pretty tight. I absolutely love mine as it's made life so much easier when dropping ds1 to nursery and so forth, but also tempted by a mei tai instead of the ergo we bought and have virtually never used!
