I want to buy DH a car kit for his ipod nano (1G) for Christmas but I am overwhelmed by what's out there. Can anyone recommend one? or what do you think of this one? shop.ipodworld.co.uk/iPodWorldSite/product/all_iPods_Car+Accessories/CY-A-GTL.htm thanks!

best £50 dh spent was taking the car to a specialist and having them wire a proper input into the stereo.
iPod is plugged in and stays in glovebox, and you do the track selection etc through the stereo head unit.
For another £50 he could have had it wired right through to the steering-wheel controls and the dashboard display too.

Thanks but we're moving abroad in May so will be selling our current car so we need something portable really. Sounds interesing what your DH has done though

Even the plain itrip works well (though doesn't have anywhere fancy to clip the ipod onto, went in the change well of our car beneath the cig lighter) but not so much in London as there isn't enough unused radio bandwidth.
Worked amazingly in NZ though.

anyone else?

We have a plug in Itrip thingy and it isn't brilliant - seems to get a bit of interference although as we are in London/SE I suppose it's inevitable.
