Question for people who own Duo boots

I measured my calves and decided I needed either 41 or 43 cm width boots.
I went into the Manchester fitting room today and was measured as 39cm. The fitter then brought out 37cm boots saying that if I had the 39s there could be too much give. Anyway she eventually managed to zip up all the boots I tried and they all felt really tight. She kept on saying, 'Trust me, they should be a snug fit, you're just not used to how they'd feel.'
So, my question is, if I get the 37s will they loosen up enough?

Bear in mind you may want to tuck your jeans in. Leave room for that!

depends on the boot in my experience - I have some smart knee length that are always a bit of a squeeze and some calf length casual that I wish I'd got in a smaller fitting

I'd get bigger ones that feel comfortable now. It kind of defeats the objective of sized calf boots if they're trying to offer you a tight pair.

I have some Duo boots I bought 4yrs ago and they definitely haven't stretched at all (in fact they're a bit tight, probably cos I'm a stone heavier, but that's a different matter )

V excited to hear that there's a Manchester store though - I had to sort out a detour to the Bath one whilst working, and managed to get a £20 parking fine, making my boots pretty expensive!

Boots with different width calves ie for skinny calves or, er, muscly/fat calves here

mine are the same width as my calves and they have given enough to it in my jeans. The assistant told me that people had been going back in because they had bought ones that were the same or bigger and the boots had given too much.
