HELP! Phil and Ted questions!

LulaTallulah · 12/10/2007 19:08

I have the Phil and Ted Sport which for the most part is excellent. However I have two questions:

1.How do you move the shoulder straps down to the lowest point? They are far to high up for my littlest DD and I can't get them through the holes. I have tried to remove the strap clips but can't and with the clips on them they won't go through the loops.

  1. Does anyone have a prob with their child undoing the harness/straps. My eldest DD (20 months) has been able to undo these easily for the last 4 months and now escapes on a regular basis. Cue major tanrums when being put back, only for her to escape the moment my back is turned. Any advice on what to do? Is there anything you can buy to put over them to stop them being undone by little fingers?

I would have to ask DH about adjusting the straps as he did ours , but we have been having the same problem with DS releasing himself - he did it the other day and was leaning so far forward that before I realised it he had fallen out (oops)

My issue today is that I'm having real problems controlling my buggy when crossing roads; my front wheel keeps spinning around leaving me struggling (sometimes in traffic) to go forwards - it is very embarrassing. This is my first 3 wheeler, am I doing something wrong?

Pixiefish · 12/10/2007 21:27

Try locking the front wheel

Washersaurus · 12/10/2007 21:34

If I lock the wheel won't it become difficult to move generally?? (or am I being an idiot?)

I swear my buggy is trying to get us all killed

Cant you get things like you can put over carest clips to stop them opeing them? TBH, ds1 could undo our p&t, but I figured he was old enough then to need to learnto behave and not do a runner. Ds2 never figured it out, yet he can escape from the harness on a citilite without undoing it

Dont lock your front wheel; it'll be a right pain to push and steer. Maybe you just need to get used to a diffrent feel to past buggies?

mustrunmore · 12/10/2007 21:41

Sorry, that should rad carseat clips

Lula - the straps thing is a design error - mine is the same and the UK distributor told me all those he had were the same

You can attach a reins harness to the D links instead to stop your LO escaping

i have found my phil and teds a bit tricky to steer for the past few weeks (no probs for the previuse 12 months before though)

seems that they tyres really need a pump up though as they are all quite suashy, so when DB gets round to it i assume the problem will rectify itself

Washersaurus · 13/10/2007 09:56

Hmmm NannyL I think you may be right, my tyres do look a tad deflated. Will pump 'em up and see if i makes it any better to control
