Renault Clio 2015?

I'm looking for an automatic car with low annual tax and high efficiency. I think Clio ticks all the boxes including my budget, 7k and design. But somehow my husband really doesn't like Clio. I'm not sure whether he's got bas experience with driving the car or simply he doesn't prefer it. What do you think about Clio? Is it reliable and easy to drive?

I had a 2015 clio, 1.5 diesel. Loved it. Delight to drive, easy steering and comfortable on all journeys. Economical too.

I also aways got comments on its look as it was a lovely cherry red.

Kicked and screamed when I had to swap it (not though choice, husband company car saga) and I'm likely to have a new car in the next 6 months or so and I keep coming back to a clio.....

I have a 2017 manual Clio and love it.
Will DH be driving it much? I think it tends to be seen as a woman’s car, which is maybe why he doesn’t like it.

Avoid French cars like the plague. A Yaris would be a MUCH better choice.

GrumpySausage · 10/10/2020 10:43

@elai why do you say this about French cars? My dad has always said the same but I've had a few over the years and never had any issues so I'm curious.

Every Renault I've had, including my current Clio have had a load of problems with the electrics.

I've never had a French car with electrical problems now I think about it

We have 2004 Clio and a love/hate relationship with her! We’ve also had a scenic and an espace in the past. In our experience, when they work they a brilliant. When they go wrong it’s hellish expensive!!

Honda Jazz or Toyota Yaris. All the way.

Anyone who buys a POS french friday afternoon car needs their head testing.

Better off burning the money than spending it on that Euro-trash!

Every day in a French car factory is Friday afternoon.

They look nice and are a comfortable drive, but if the electrics go it’s a nightmare. And the electrics go frequently with Renaults ime.
Wouldn’t touch a second hand one with a barge pole.
