Diesel pump got stuck in car at Sainsburys [blush]

Just filled up my Citroen Grand C4 Picasso at Sainsburys. The pump got stuck in the car. A couple of blokes managed to get it out eventually after a lot of pulling. Anyone know why this happened? Do you think I need to get the car checked out?

You sure you put the right fuel in? Have a look at the hole and see if anything looks off

Did it go in easily? Were you too far back/forward so it went in at an angle?

Bangkokbaby · 29/09/2020 15:20

This happened to me once, it was because id put the wrong type of fuel in the car....

Assuming she's driven home, I wouldn't have thought it was the wrong fuel though.

It usually means as said that it's the wrong fuel. You'll know soon enough if you have

I had some work done on my involved removing the fuel tank and when
I got it back, it wasn't "right". It was trickier to get the nozzle in and out the before (and it moved about which was clearly wrong!). They fixed it and it went back to being smooth. It was something to do with the bit that is between the tank and the body of the car.

If it happens to you again I'd get it looked at but it might have just been a one off.

It was definitely the right fuel! I thought it went in easily like it normally does, but it was so hard to get out! Bit nervous of filling up again in case it gets stuck again and there isn't anyone else around to help pull it out again!
