What Car Should I Get?

KarenSmith1980 · 29/09/2020 13:20

About A Year Ago My Husband Brought a Mercades GLA (or some shit) As A Family Car Which He Enjoyed Driving, However He Now Uses A Van For Work So Its Basically Became My Car. However I Find it to Difficult To Drive. What Would A Good Car Be For 5 People. Preferably Brand New or Near New!

Do you want 5 or 7 seats? 7 will limit options but give more flexibility

KarenSmith1980 · 29/09/2020 13:40

I Think 5 Would Be A Better Option

Dont know about anybody else. But capitals at the start of EVERY WORD does hurt my eyes. Why even do that?

KarenSmith1980 · 29/09/2020 14:45

Because That's How I Write

Lurkingforawhile · 29/09/2020 14:48

But it’s not the correct way to write? Also I recommend Ford cars for easy to use, easy to maintain (but I have a smaller one).

RandomMess · 29/09/2020 14:58

What's your budget?

RandomMess · 29/09/2020 15:00

We have a Citroen C4 Picasso that fits 5 adults comfortably, easy enough to drive just not "sexy" or "fun"

WhatDoIDooDIoDtahW · 29/09/2020 15:02

Can I have your merc GLA? Actual dream car 😭 I had to settle for a Nissan quashquai.. which is nice so that would be my recommendation! The boot isn’t as big as I thought it would be but is plenty to get my giant pram in and some shopping so perfect for me and my only child 🤣

Enough4me · 29/09/2020 15:02

You do not write correctly.

WhatDoIDooDIoDtahW · 29/09/2020 15:03

Oh my mistake I thought were were giving car suggestions not writing classes. 🤦🏼‍♀️

KarenSmith1980 · 29/09/2020 15:30

On Finance £500 or £10,000 to £15,000

Do you like the mercedes other than finding it difficult to drive, before I had my range rover I had a mercedes saloon that was so nice to drive. The c class is pretty affordable and still has plenty of features etc. If you still want a larger car then look at cars such as bmw X1, Audi q3 etc. Volvo also had a nice selection of SUVS in the XC range. The XC40 is a little smaller and very comfortable.

KarenSmith1980 · 29/09/2020 15:42

I do like the mercedes but i just struggle to drive it, I do really like the mercedes saloon's and have looked at some. Thanks for suggesting the Audi, BMW and Volvo, i hadn't thought about them

WhatDoIDooDIoDtahW, it is a really nice looking car and was my dream car but its really expensive. The Nissan would be a lot more pratical and affordable.

KarenSmith1980 · 29/09/2020 16:02

RandomMess, I don't really think that it matters if the car is 'sexy' or 'flashy' as long as it can do the basics like driving the kids to school, going to the shop and the occasional long drive then its fine

I test drove a Mercedes SLK and I found it hard work to drive!!!

I tried Audi A3 and hated it compared to BMW1 series, suspension just not good enough.

I don't love my Picasso C4 but after test driving a lot of other expensive cars over the last few months I certainly have a new appreciation for it.

Loads of room for all passengers front and back )DH struggles to be comfy in a lot of front seats)

Ample boot space

Great suspension

Great on motorway (1.6 diesel)

The Lexus we test drove was very comfy and easy too.

The all electric Kia e-Niro was the nicest one we drove but that is above your budget.

not going to lie to you, Ferraris are a brilliant type of car however a bit too pricy so i suggest a honda e review. absolutely beautiful car and worth the money Halo

LizzieMacQueen · 01/10/2020 21:49

A Volvo XC60 would be a good fit for you. I have a manual and it's an easy car to drive.

PersonaNonGarter · 01/10/2020 21:53

I have the Volvo xc 60 and chose it over the GLA. The visibility is much better.

RainbowMum11 · 01/10/2020 22:10

I loved my Seat Ateca, and as soon as I am earning more money I will hopefully be able to get another one!

OhTheRoses · 01/10/2020 22:16

Honda CRV is very easy to drive. If you can go smaller you cd look at the HRV.

JanewaysBun · 08/10/2020 23:15

The Volvo xc60 is the most lovely car ever to drive. So so smooth and easy to manoeuvre.
