Meriva 1.4i vs 1.4T

I'm planning to replace a 14 year old Meriva A with an 8 or 9 year old Meriva B

We do very low mileage, probably less than 500 town miles and 2000 to 3000 motorway miles, so going for petrol not diesel.

The old one is 1.6 8V. The Meriva B equivalent is the 1.4i but I'm leaning towards a 1.4T to have a bit more poke. However, I see there are far more 1.4i on the market and I'm wondering if the 1.4T is less common I'll end up paying a premium for any parts and servicing.

Any thoughts/experience/advice?

Not much of a replacement!

Both are shit. Get yourself a Honda Jazz or something bombproof like it.

Thanks for the advice. We paid 1250 for the Meriva in 2015 and had a good 5 year run out of it so I can't complain.

I did consider the Jazz but it's not got the load space of the Meriva and according to reviews is less comfortable for motorway driving.

We do under 5K a year, mostly on the motorway. I just don't think we'd use the car enough to get enough benefit from the Honda's extra reliability to be worth the limitations.

Any cost increase for insurance and pasts over the 1.4 will be marginal. Ignore the above poster they have a chip on their shoulder and despise anything that isnt made in Japan.
