Gameboy for Xmas...

I am thinking of getting my dd, nearly 7 one for Xmas as we have enough plastic girly crap laying around untouched, but I am so out of touch I have no idea whats the latest, most compatable(if at all) one.
The one in Woolies is a Gameboy advance sp..what is the sp, is there a gameboy advance without the sp on the end??? Please educate!!

SP is more recent than no SP. I don't think there are any more recent models than an SP so if you want it to play all the new releases it would be the best choice.

we got DS a gameboy colour several years ago and then gave him the SP one for birthday.

It has a much better screen and can be charged in the car or off power plug. It does not need batteries. We have got the thing to make easier to hold.

There is another one in the middle NOT SP but that does need batteries but is a slightly better shape to hold.

So I think the SP one is really good IMHO and DSsHO

Do you think they will drop the price before Xmas for maximum sales?

I doubt it, charliecat. I got ds one last Christmas, and the price was pretty static as far as I remember. I think they're getting ready to wheel out the new version next year, though, so that would push the price down, I'd have thought. Incidentally, did you know that you can now get them in pink ?

charliecat · 17/10/2004 20:55

Ta gonna have a look...

You can also get them in blue and red and probably other colours too.

Excellent present both my boys have one (6 and 4yrs) great for a bit of peace and for boring car journeys, and I find that they do not play with them for more than an hour a time, whereas it is a real fight to get them off the playstation (now banned on school nights indefinately)!

charliecat · 17/10/2004 21:08

So im gonna go for the sp, whats annoying me is i had a leaflet here about 3 days ago with a bundle for 80 quid with 3 games....can I find it NOOOOOOO so im gonna delay for now just in case I order one and then find it.

acer · 17/10/2004 21:10

charliecat · 17/10/2004 21:11

Best to buy it from ebay shops, still cheaper than on the high street because you can bid for it, don't buy if they haven't got instructions.
