She has a tiny nick in the sleeve of her winter coat and I can't afford to buy a new one just because of this, as it still fits her, is lovely and warm and washes great.

So, I was going to buy something to sew over it, as the nick is bang in the middle of the front of the sleeve. I want something like a brownie badge, but obviously not brownie designs.

What are they called ? Was hoping to get something cheaply off ebay.

They are also called motifs.

Woolworthds do patches, either iron-on or to sew with a motif. Most supermarkets do plain repair ones at least

haberdasheries will do them. Large deperment stores like Frasers still have them or a fabric shop.
