I'm after a large wooden toy that i can paint up - needs to have a lid and be a decent size not to expensive.

We have had one of these from Argos for years, still going strong - and they are reduced atm too!

B+Q.

I bought a wooden box/chest from B&Q last year, painted it, and gave it to DD for Chritmas. You can get all the supplies from B&Q.

Although I decided the heavy wooden lid was a potential finger cruncher, so I never put it on.

Have you tried IKEA? I am sure they do some wooden unpainted boxes? They won't be dear either.

Or see if you can get someone to make one for you. DH's grandad is currently making DD a wooden box with lid to store her dressing up clothes in.

Hula - I saw those when I went last week. They are £9 each!

Not sure what size they are though? At that price - just get two!

What about this? Just add Stick On type things to jazz up. £7.90!

More here too varying in type and price.
