Party dresses

I am looking for a party dress for my dd (nearly 7), last year I ummed and arred about buying one thinking she wouldn't get much wear out of it, and she did, she has wore it to death.

She would be quite happy if she had high heels and short skirt (girls of today) but I want my little girl to remain a girl.

She has her 7th birthday to attend (disco) and various christmas parties and off course Christmas day. She likes the one in Monsoon but its £48, I don't mind at the end of the day, if she wears it, but wonder if anyone else had any suggestions.

Something girly, pretty and tasteful but not frilly. Any ideas ?

noticed there was a sale in BHS of girls dresses, bit like bridesmaid ones, very pretty (gold- I think) may be worth a look.

Next have some beautiful dresses. They also have this gorgeous velvet catsuit that I may get for my dd. It is a halter neck but it is still for a young girl. Not tarty or anything.

Yes I do actually have my eye on one in Next, can't find my directory, but its the very pale pink one with the bow on the waist and the diamonte (sp?) broach on strap.

I do like the cat suit, but she didn't, she liked the 2 piece plum one. At the end of the day if she doesn't like it she won't wear it, I just want many ideas that I like and let her choose one of them.

The one in Monsson is loveley, but then you need shoes, before you know it the bill has gone up to nearly £70 for one outfit.

M&S have some really pretty ones at the moment, and Laura Ashley have some in their sale too, I was looking at them today and they have some quite nice unfrilly ones.

If you want to go even cheaper, you could have a look at George at Asda, they have some nice ones.

Gorgeous things in Debenhams too.
