Air conditioning unit

I am 8 months pregnant and desperate to buy an air con unit as am sweltering in our hot city flat. I'm looking at a Comfee 9000 - do air conditioning units work on tip and tilt windows? Can you just stick the hose out of the window?
Thanks!

This thread is from a few years ago so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but we’ve recently updated our best air conditioner page with lots of great Mumsnetter-approved AC units, plus info on whether they’re the right choice for you this summer! We hope it’s useful.

With your window format, a portable air conditioner is your best guess. Yes, you simply stick the hose out the window for it to expel the hot air. I'm not familiar with the model you mentioned, but from what I could see online about it, seems pretty ok. Look here too before you make up your mind.

I'd personally recommend the 8,000 BTU LG model. I have an LG myself and I'm pretty satisfied with it, although mine is a window-mounted model. Good day!
