Having decided to give up the rat race to be a part time SAHM I need to re-fit our study for both me and DP-don't want to spend a fortune but equally don't want crap that will collapse under the weight of 2yr old dd when she decides to sit on the desk to play with the 'puter.

Don't think I can bear the idea of IKEA, John Lewis is limited and expensive and Staples should stick to selling staples....

ikea is fine for office furniture

totalyfreaky · 02/10/2007 18:16

PC World, sell office furniture I think, or you could try Focus.

Whats that comma doing there

Cappuccino · 02/10/2007 18:17

and I think office furniture is more robust than the weight of a 2 year old

seeing as people put, you know, heavy old PC towers and squillions of pounds of equipment on top of it

and then lean on it/ sit on it to talk about their sandwiches

We got ours here, service was pretty good and quite reasonable prices as well.

grown men - or should that be a grown man can stand on our Ikea desk ( to reach the fusebox, in case you were wondering)

ScaryScaryNight · 02/10/2007 18:53

Ikea

iota · 02/10/2007 18:53

actually that would be kneeling rather than standing

Whooosh · 02/10/2007 20:08

Oh please stop trying to convince me to go to IKEA-I think I would rather have root canal treatment.
Every time I have been to the damn palce over the last 18yrs,they have never had everything I needed-screws missing or side panels missing ...and...and...and..

Do I really have to go there???????

Is it really worht it [pleading emoticon]
