The good thing about argos is that you can take it back if you dont like it.

It's a mini one , I dont know how small that is ,it might be a bit of a fiddle.

I got my new sewing machine in john lewis last year and they let me have a go on them. I got a janome and I'm pleased with it ,was about £169 I think but they do JL own brand ones (full size) for under a hundred. John lewis are a mine of information even if you dont actually buy it from them.

to be honest I sew name tags on by hand

I got a really cheap one in Lidls and its doing fine I have managed to adjust a few dresses and even jeans and haven't even broken a needle yet. H managed to make a right mess of sorting a pocket yesterday, I just kept quite and let him get on with it as I no longer feel the urge to help him .

ED I sew name tapes on as well as using iron on ones but find they don't always stay on and with 2 children in uniform and naother due in 2 years I really want to make life easier.

If you really want to make it easy use a permenent pen and write names on the labels , thats what I do and I can use machine fine but takes to long, its fiddly and kids complain its scratchy.

Write on the clothes care labels that is.

I do that too. They have name tapes sewn or ironed on and I write the nales on the labels. Belt and braces me!
