Stinky Shoes - yuk!!!!!

Due to the recent wet weather DH's cycling shoes have become positively smelly. Due to the construction of the shoes, I can't chuck them in the washing machine as it would destroy the drum. Does anyone have any bright ideas of how to neutralise the nasty niff.

Cat litter is brilliant for absorbing the wet and the smell. Just put some in to the offending trainer and leave overnight. Just empty it in the morning.

There's a "shoe freshener" aerosol thingy that's fab. Smells like Refreshers. I think it's made by Kiwi.

Can you put them in a button up pillow case, and put them in the machine, maybe with a load of towels or something?
That, or use a clothes peg on your nose!

ooogs, have had this same prob with ds1's trainers. I was ashamed of them to be honest!! I felt like the mum with the smelly kid, cos no one would know the smell was the trainers!! I washed them but that only took a little bit of the smell. I got some scholl odour control shoe spray and scholl odour control insoles. took out the trainer insoles and replaced them with scholl ones and sprayed them with spray. Did the trick!!!

sprayed trainers that is

You didn't spray DS1 as well
