Bike rack on Mini Countryman

Hello, has anyone got a 2010-2016 Mini Countryman and has used a rear-mounted bike rack that isn't the really expensive mini brand one?

I don't have a tow bar and think I'd struggle getting bikes on the roof due to a bad back.

Some websites say rear mounted ones don't fit, others offer "compatible" ones - just wondered if anyone actually had some practical experience.

If you look on the Thule website, there is a tool that lets you see which model is compatible with what cars. They are not cheap though, but Mont Blanc do similar racks considerably cheaper.

Mini do a specific Mini bike carrier, but it costs about £400! A couple I know who are both into MTBing and had a Mini, ended up having a bike rack especially made for them, but this was for a Mini One, at least 10 years ago.
