Not sure how they do in terms of safety?

Generally speaking multi stage car seats are much less safe than single stage ones (but some single stage ones can be pretty crap, even dangerouse )

Personally if you primarily are concerned about the safety of the child, then go for ones that which show to be very safe...

such as the ISOFIX britax or miaxi cosi car seats.... or maxi cosi cabrio (Non isofix)does very well, as did mother care travel tot a couple of year back and the new britax non isofix seat for 0-9kg

Once 9kg - 18kf if ISOFIX isnt an option (its the safest to choose if it is an option, go for the maxi cosi priori fixi or the britax isofix which both score highly for safety)
For belt fitted seats the maxi tobi is one of the best, closely followed by maxi cosi priori

there are a few others but off the top of my head i cant remember

hiya i bought that exact one for my dd last week.she is 5 months old and it is great.very securely fastened in the car,clear instructions,removable padding,adjustable straps,reclining etc.i was initially put off as it was so cheap but it is imo a really good carseat

oh and it arrived 3 days after purchase!

A have a nania (the next stage up) and the cover comes loose which is a bit of a pain, otherwise it is fine.

Have 6, 3 first stage 3 second stage, they are fab, wash up well as well.

good basic seats- we sell loads of them, not as safe as the really expensive ones but certainly better that second hand or nothing at all!
