Hi

can anyone please help? we bought a dyson washing machine about 2 and a half years ago. since then ther have been 8 or 9 faults on it, so at the start of september they decided to replace it with a 'reconditioned' one. when we recieved it, it managed to break down after doing only 1 wash!! since then we have had it fixed 3 times!! it broke down at the weekend, so rang on monday morning and told that an engineer would be out on wednesday. engineer came today and said the part won't be here until monday. so again we have been without a washing machine for over a week!! we have been complaining with no results. what can we do now as we accepted a reconitioned one (althought they said they would not replace it with a new one as over 2 years old)other than warn everyone about their products and customer service!!?? please help, i really don't know what to do now!!

I think tamum has a dyson washing machine, hopefully she will search her name and come up with this thread and hopefully have a dyson washer and know what to do next.............

nicm, I'm not sure what your position is either after having had it for so long - ring your local Trading Standards people (at council offices?), they should be able to help.

I think you might be stuck with it - I would be very tempted in your position to cut my losses and buy a cheap basic one instead (like Bosch). THEN start spreading the word, contact Watchdog, newspapers etc!

was told when they came out by my friendly washing machine repair man never buy a new product like this untill it had been around for a few years and others had tested out its reliability - he also mentioned that it would be a nightmare to get parts for it as they would have to come from Dyson and to by Bosh or Hotpoint instead!!

thank you. have just phoned consumer line and they have said that basically dyson are doing all they have to do at this stage, but if this repair fails that we should push for a new washing machine(again!!). are there any lawyers on mumsnet that know if there is anything else that we can do?

thanks evryone for replying, really appreciated.
