Knife for non stick pans

Any recommendations for a knife or cutting implement that won’t scratch non stick

  • sometimes I can’t find a way around needing a knife- for example when using my springform pan I need to run a knife around the circumference of the cake to loosen it from the pan and then release the catch. Any suggestions and ideas welcome!

Knife and non stick pan do not belong together.
To avoid cakes sticking to springform, you butter it very well then dust it everywhere with flour and cake won't stick.

A palette knife should do it.

Palette knife but with a non-stick springform you shouldn’t need to loosen the cake first. If you grease the pan well, then after it cools the cake should pop out easily.

You need a Bakeware Buddy. I got mine from Lakeland but they don't seem to do them now. It's great, a serrated plastic knife. Lots on US sites but couldn't, at first glance on google, find anything UK based.

Thank you for your replies. I’m interested in the nylon spatulas. I wonder if they are firm. I might buy them next time I need something from amazon and hope for the best. The bakeware buddy sounds like exactly what I want!

Thanks @CatToddlerUprising that’s perfect- I don’t suppose you’ve used one and know they are safe for non stick? I’m assuming as it’s Lakeland it should be good
