Cars when your children turn into long legged teens

We are a family of 6. DC aged 16, almost 13, DTs aged 8 (soon to be 9).

We have a Sharan which is great. We're reluctantly accepting we need a 2nd car for the next few years. I'd always imagined a little run around but I don't think this will work as the DC and their friends are getting so tall, they are really uncomfortable squashed in the back. Some journeys can be quite long, especially when we split up and go to grandparents separately. And we are often involved in car shares for the kids sports and activities - the kit bags get huge as they get older so we need a reasonable boot. But we don't need two 7 seaters.

So are there any possibilities for comfortably fitting 3 tall teens across the back in proper seats or do we really need another 7 seater?

Skoda Superbs have a huge amount a leg room so definitely worth looking into.
