Any one work in the trade? Best time to buy?

If so when do you think the best time will be to buy a used car ( 3yrs old) from a chain dealer? ( £15k mark).

Straight away to clear stock or in a free weeks when people may be handing back their pcps?

We don't need to buy now but current car becoming unreliable and it would be great to have a new car for the holidays.

And when ate dealers going to open?

Dealers opened June 1st. Best time to buy was late May. You'll get a cracker if you go now but as more people open and have a view to more cashflow there is less reason to sell low.

Always go at the end of the month when they are pushing to meet targets.

I'm in s scotland so everything still closed till 29th. Not a huge amount of stock though so wondering whether there might be a surge of used cars.

Hertz are in bankruptcy proceedings, so if their vehicles get sold off as part of this then that may push prices down a bit and bring many used cars to market

Ha I'm not sure i would buy an ex rental - imagine the trashing they have taken!

Evidence suggests that a rental car is better as it's had many drivers so will be worn slightly in a few areas rather than significantly in one area.

50% of vehicles on the road are fleet cars which will have been treated with less respect than old Gladis who cared for hers.

Fleet and rental cars will have been serviced exactly when they should have rather than forgotten about etc.
