Good idea or completely ridiculous?

I am actually considering getting one of these

Would you snigger if I walked past you in the street wearing one?

I'm really not sure what to do about ds this winter. He gets really warm in the ergo, too warm to wear his coat so was considering babylegs for his arms and legs plus a hat. But then what about me? I can't wear my coat over the top as he's in the back carry (only option he's nearly 2 and weighs 30lbs) and I can't wear my coat underneath as I would boil to death. Last winter he was in a front carrier and I was able to wear my coat over the top, but open.

The papoose coat really does seems like a good solution, but it's so ridiculous!!

Anybody got one? Or do you have a solution to my problem?

God, I really like it

You should know that I'm a size 18, wobbly short arse with bad hair though. So don't take my terminably unfashionable opinion

moljam · 23/09/2007 15:46

so it may be good idea but you may look like your drowning!email them saying us petite parents want one!

If your ds is now starting to walk a fair bit - and will do so at ever increasing distances and time - then he really needs his own, independent wind/waterproof clothing.

I think this sort of thing has its place for babies, but not for toddlers.

Not that my back was ever up to carrying them at all, even when they were tiny babies!

mawbroon · 23/09/2007 16:47

He does have his own roisin, but the point is that were he to be wearing it in the back carrier, he would get far too hot. It gets boiling at his front but his shoulders, neck, arms and legs need to be kept warm.

Get a bin liner, cut a hole for your head, one for your DSs ad bob's your proverbial uncle.Waterproof and just as lovely as the elephant skin.

Or make a poncho out of something waterproof.

Good plan

Mawbroon, the second one is much nicer but did you notice that they are out of stock on everything except XL?

I am watching with interest because dd2 prefers to be carried much of the time as well...

Cadmum · 23/09/2007 19:46

XXL even...

mawbroon · 23/09/2007 19:56

There was some blurb though about being able to order other sizes. I think I will phone them tomorrow to see what the story is.
