Does anyone know if this camera is any good ??

Dd1 wants a digital camera for her birthday, and I have agreed seeing as she is quite good at using mine, and she is off to France next March on school trip.

However, I need a mega cheap one, but at the same time want it to be worth having and not a pile of rubbish.

Does anyone know if this is any god, or if not does anyone know of a similarly priced good one ?

www.amazon.co.uk/Vivicam-V3105-Digital-Camera-Silver/dp/B000FCUU12/ref=sr_1_1/026-7225951-0995628?ie =UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1190395603&sr=8-1

dont know if this helps - same phone different colour

contentiouscat · 21/09/2007 18:31

Sorry I was on the phone - I meant same camera LOL

I generally check the Amazon reviews out even if I dont intend to buy from them.

nutcracker · 21/09/2007 18:33

Oh thanks for that, seems like it is rubbish then.

Really don't want to spend more than £35-£40. Does anyone know of a good one that price.

I never thought to check on Amazon, will do that in future, thanks for the idea.

I bought DS1 a Vivitar one for christmas. i soon took it back! picture quality was awful. Grainy and dark without flash but too light with flash!

I am going to spend a bit more for his birthday in few weeks so that he gets something decent. (Bought a cheap, old 2nd hand one to replace chrismas one.)
Looking at this one looks pretty good and a bit more than vivitar one! Worth the extra i think.

BigGitDad · 21/09/2007 18:43

Do Jessops sell second hand cameras? Yu might get a good deal there.

nutcracker · 21/09/2007 18:45

Don't know about Jesspos, but we have a local one so will definatly have a look.

That one looks good Tortoise, but I really can't afford that much at the mo.

God I prefered it when she was 2 and was satisfied with a book from the pound shop lol.

This is what Amazon brings up if you put in digital camera as a search (unfortunately you cant sort them by price as far as I can make out)

www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_pg_1/026-7225951-0995628?ie=UTF8&rs=&keywords=Digital%20Camera&rh=i%3Aaps% 2Ck%3ADigital%20Camera&page=1

I think you are probably looking at around £50 for an OK new one, worth thinking about a 2nd hand one and make sure you are getting the memory card too.

nutcracker · 21/09/2007 18:52

Hmmmm me thinks I might have to persuade her to have something else unless I find a bargain.

Thanks for the help guys.
