karen99 · 08/10/2004 13:18

don't have any but would love to know if they work!!

leglebegle · 08/10/2004 13:18

Spanx power panties !!!!! Gwyneth paltrow gave the game away when she was interviewed and said her post baby tummy had gone because of them. she said all the celebs use them. you can only get them from harvey nics or mail order from mytights.com. they are like bicycle short and apparently you lose up to 4 inches off tummy and thighs. you could only buy them in the usa until very recently. mine are almost here

aaahhh, I see!

NomDePlume · 08/10/2004 13:20

These are the tummy holding in pants, aren't they ? Gwyneth Paltrow swears by them apparently. I'll be buying some belly warming control pants for the upcoming party season, for sure.

NomDePlume · 08/10/2004 13:22

posts crossed.

Would love to have the pre-baby smooth, flat, toned stomach of 3 years ago

karen99 · 08/10/2004 13:22

here krocket

bunnyrabbit · 08/10/2004 15:07

Wow £18... are they worth it?

SoupDragon · 08/10/2004 15:37

Erm... do they not just squish all the flab out of the top and at the legs??

leglebegle · 08/10/2004 16:02

apparently not which is why they are such a phenomenon in the states. i will let you all know what i think when they get here. i don't know where the flab goes but frankly if it makes my tummy look smaller i don't care !!!

fuzzywuzzy · 08/10/2004 16:10

Also wonder how well they wash??? Can you stick them in the washing machie with the rest of your laundry or not???

tamum · 08/10/2004 16:44

I've had some for quite a while (they've been available through figleaves for this year, at least). They do much less redistribution of squishiness than M and S ones which is why they're so much better, but I'm not sure how it works. They wash fine as long as you don't put them on a heater to dry or anything, but I would advise giving the tights a miss- I bought a pair and got a ladder just putting them on for the first time

leglebegle · 08/10/2004 19:45

Tamum - do they make you look a lot thinner (please say yes)

OP posts:
whizzz · 08/10/2004 19:55

I just love the name ! The flab must go somewhere surely !!?
Do you end up with big fat knees instead ??????

Kayleigh · 08/10/2004 20:05

am waiting with baited breath here for tamums reply

Nimme · 08/10/2004 20:09

Definitely interested in this thread as due to pop in 8 weeks or so.

Tamum??

And leglebegle - please let us know how they are?

Nimme · 08/10/2004 20:10

The Gwynnie article - did she not also mention something about a girdle type thing?

Has anyone tried that??

tamum · 08/10/2004 20:35

Sorry- yes, they do, definitely. Flatter stomach. I only got them for wearing under a fitted floaty-material kind of dress and they make a big difference under those conditions

You can breathe again now
