Too big for bouncy chair and swing, what next? Hates bumbo

DS is getting big. He is not quite 5 months and has just entered the 98th percentile for weight, meaning that strictly speaking he shouldn't be in his bouncy chair any more.

It's a shame because he loves to sit it in and watch the world go by while I am cooking or whatever, and as a safe place to park him for a bit it is a godsend.

We have a Tripp Trapp but it is not out of the box yet as he is sitting unsupported for only about 10 seconds before he lists over at the moment. He doesn't like the Bumbo as he feels restricted and in a funny position.

Is there anything which has the same sort of relaxed feel as a bouncy chair but is suitable for bigger/older babies?

Have a Lindam door bouncer which is OK but its a faff getting him in and out.

infant to toddler rocker

I have the Mamas and papas prima pappa highchair. They can sit in it reclined from 4 months. My daughter once fell asleep in it.

sadly does not look as stylish a Tripp Trapp & a PITA to clean.

but it is good for babies who are not quite there in the sitting department because they can be level with the rest of the family.

other negative is that it does take up a lot of space. apparently you can fold it but I have never bothered

Infant to toddler rocker, yes that is exactly what I had in mind!

Thanks for all suggestions

Yep - ExerSaucer as Flier suggests. Worked for our babes!

from 4-6 months my 2 used to rotate round the door bouncer, the swing, the activity centre (like a baby walker without the wheels), the galt activity ring and the bumbo!

I agree the door bouncer is a bit of a faff but it gets easier! My 2 loved the bumbo best, I used to put it up on the kitchen surface beside me while I cooked or washed dishes.
