Nutty - we had it for dd when she was about 2.5. I've just put ours up in the loft as it doesn't get played with anymore.

I think at 5 she will be a bit too old for it.

Would something like a polly pocket house be better for her - that seems to be what my dd was starting to get into last year

JanH · 05/10/2004 17:35

Do they still do Sylvanian families? When my DDs were that age they loved those and they used to get played with for several years. (nutty's link looks just like a sylvanian house!)

nutcracker · 05/10/2004 17:35

Oh right o.k, thanks, i did think maybe she was a bit old for it.

She's not really mentioned Polly Pocket at all yet which is bloody surprising cos she wants everything else

I shouldn't even be considering it really as it's not on her list, i'm hopeless.

think she might be a bit old too.
We bought a slightly bigger one from ELs for dd's 3rd birthday She loves it but not sure she would at 5
it's a great price though!

nutcracker · 05/10/2004 17:36

Yeah they do Jan, bloody expensive too.

Most don't come with people or furniture either which i think is such a con.

Hana - Is that the one that is on offer half price at the mo ??????

We bought that for dd's 3rd birthday and she's never played with it. She also finds it awkward to get into as it's not all open. I regret getting it to be honest.

golds · 05/10/2004 18:23

We bought that dolls house for our dd and she has never played with it, I enjoyed playing with it though

My dd is big on the sylvania stuff at the mo, we bought her a little house, some time ago and told her if she played with it and looked after all the tiny bits, then we would let her have more, she loves it, but yes your right, quite pricey

hana · 05/10/2004 18:30

nutcracker - no, the half price one is at ELC and is out of stock (on line) I bought the older version at ELC in the summer sales for dd but at £30 was more expensive than the one one 1/2 price now!!

nutcracker · 05/10/2004 18:32

Oh right i see.

I did consider getting them one of the big ones between them (Dd1 will be by xmas), but i'm just not sure they will play with it enough to justify the expense.

Dd has the same one as this but bigger. The ELC one from last year.

KristinaM · 05/10/2004 21:45

We have a wooden one that's similar but more open. Came with lots of furniture, 2 dolls, a garden and garden furniture. Bought it from Woolworths on their 3 for price of 2 offer. Think its made by Chad Valley. Sorry cant remember price - suspect about £20. 4yo DD plays with it a lot.

Flik · 05/10/2004 22:02

we nearly bought the elc one but went for this instead. The elc one is bigger and more open, maybe if got that one then she would have played with it.

keziah · 05/10/2004 22:39

Playmobil have a dolls house which my dd loves - she had it last christmas when she was just four. I know its not wooden but Its quite robust. There is a small and a large one I think.

Re Sylvanian families O.M.G. they are expensive!!
