To expect a new Sky dish

Hopefully you can help me before tomorrow morning! I am subscribing with Sky as a new customer. Was previously with them but went with virgin last time round. Now we are going back to Sky and it is being fitted tomorrow. Completely new account as it is now in my husbands name. My question is do we have to keep the sky dish that is already up. It has been there for at least 5 years or so we get a new one as though we were brand new and never had a sky dish before? Does the warranty apply if it isn’t new? What would happen if the sky dish were to be faulty a couple of months in? I have a feeling they are just going to instal the Sky Q boxes and leave the old dish up there? WWYD

It's fine to do that, literally everyone leaves the sky dish up there, they never take it down for every new account lol.

SkyQ needs a second cable so they may need to upgrade the dish.

Sky q is a new dish anyway. I don't think they offer 'old' sky to new accounts anymore.

Sorry, here's a more helpful response.

You will still be covered for an existing sky dish. They will check to make sure it's working before they go and if there are any problems they will fix it.

I used to work for sky and we did installations with existing sky boxes all the time.
