Impossible question - I went to Harrods last Saturday, shopping with dd1 and my sister. We saw a BRILLIANT dollshouse in the toy dept - it was a very contemporary style, cost about £50, I tried to remember the brand but now have completeley forgotten - it was a chalet style one with very cool modern furniture - little bbq and plasma screen telly, I really really want one but cant for the life of me remember what it was called....

Is this of any interest, enid?

Or this ?

I used to work in Harrods toy dept (about 10 years ago) - happy days!!

enid · 02/10/2004 22:50

ooh thanks miaou, but no, it was a plasticy one, chalet style, it had the tag line 'Home Sweet ....' then the company name, something like Relay or Redan or some thing like that. Have searched and searched...it was so cool..

I just had a quick look at Harrods website to see what came up...and this did - WTF? Versace Barbie, £120????

hoxtonchick · 02/10/2004 22:51

Did it have multi colour transparent plastic walls, enid? I think there's one like that in the Museum of Childhood. If you get desperate, ds & I could have a quick trip next week to check it out (he will be very pleased!).

was it quite big, enid? when dd1 was little (c 15 years ago) we had a fantastic chalet doll's house, 2 storey, verandahs and things plus a basement, it was superb but I can't remember what it was called.

janh - we saw that barbie and all had a good larf. hoxtonchick - no, thats the £200 one, its fab but hideously expensive. This was so brilliant, inexpensive but contemporary, and quite little with LOADS of bits and bobs to go with it.

Have you seen this site enid? It's got some really funky dolls house furniture, including a home entertainment system & gym!

Enid - I couldn't believe it when i saw this house - exactly the same as the one my sister had as a kid - the only difference is the furniture style! This was 30 years ago! In fact my mum still has it and dd loves to play with it at Grandma's house
