Duffle coats needed sizes 4yrs & 7yrs. I've got to get them to my PILs by Sat. Online shopping only. Any ideas? Thx

John Lewis?

I was in a panic about school shirts, and finally found them on their site on Sunday. They're being delivered today - albeit that you have to pay £6.95 for the privilege of next day delivery.

Yeah, prob a bit much for school but dd would love it!

I was looking at Gloverall but the price stuns me...

Nothing at John Lewis, Littlewoods, M&S, Next.. where else can I look?

Cheap as poss but long-wearing. I'm not buying 3 coats each kid like last year! duffle coats last forever (ds could eventually wear dd's). Not a latest fashion statement but school's school.

what about this - not actually a duffle coat but a good long lasting one and a little more up to date

these are duffle coats and not too pricey

RE the cost of the Gloverall duffles, they are very expensive, and that is a sed load of cash to shell out in one go, so I can see that it may not be a player.

However, they do last. And last and last.

My two have to wear them as part of the school uniform.

The first one lasted dd 3 years, and was passed onto ds for another 2 (the school uniform shop makes you buy 'em with a lot of growing room!

So five years of winter coat for £85 seems a lot more affordable. (coat was then passed on to another family!)

I have also had hand me down gloveralls that have done two siblings and then did us for another 2 years

heifer · 04/09/2007 09:43

LL - can we have that in writing please

NormaSnorks · 04/09/2007 09:47

Our school has Beau Brummel, and they are lovely AND would probably resell on eBay well (for about 50% of original price if in good condition)

See here

Forgot to add - if you Google "SS42 duffle coat" you'll find other suppliers too...

I've had my gloverall since 1993 so it's done well. I must admit I love it. It's warm & comforting & ageless... like me.

So, for the record, I found one for dd for £75 (free shipping) from here . It's already in the post. Am I pleased? You betcha!
