Leasing options

Hi all,

I'm in need of a new car, I've always driven second hand cars and just ran them into the ground. My current car is 16 years old and ready to fall apart. We are about to have our first child and therefore I need something more reliable to drive about in.

My husband thinks we should lease a car for me, I do little mileage and the low monthly payments seem to be quite attractive, along with the fact you can hand it back after 3/4 years and get another car.

My Dad thinks its nuts and we should borrow from the bank and buy a car a few years old and at least we own something at the end.

Anyone have any good/bad experiences with leasing?

Much appreciated.

i leased a very nice car when decent lease deals were still around.

it worked out well then, but i keep an eye on deals now and haven't seen anything that would take me back to it just yet.

Depends on what you want and what your budget is?
