Sesame Street dvds

I had a fit of nostalgia the other day and thought I would buy one to show my son. Looking quickly on amazon I saw that they all seemed to be themed specials, ie on numbers/letters etc and what I really wanted was a few episodes with all my favourites on (ie bert and ernie, the cookie monster, the count, "the 3 of these things go together" song and the "would you like to swing on a star" song.

Does anyone have any dvd that have these things on?

Is it ever shown in the UK anymore?

I would like to know that too, have just bought a couple of vids on ebay but they were as you say, specialist ones, though still quite good.

After seeing a billboard (the power of advertisiing) I realised that they are startign to show a British version of Sesame Street on the Playhouse Disney channel. (I quite wanted to see the American version as I liked the New york browstone setting, it seemed so exotic to me as a child). I rang up sky to see how much it was a month and its £6 and I thought of just doing it for a month then they had the offer on for all the sky channels (movies and sport top for only £1 extra a month for 3 months. Quite a good deal if you remember to cancel after 3 months.
