Robert Dyas exploding lava lamp!!

My son's Christmas present was a lava lamp from Robert Dyas and after being on just 3.5 hours - the glass bottle cracked and leaked boiling wax all over his wall and onto his bed!!! Thank god he wasn't badly burnt!

Robert Dyas "customer service" has been appalling and they are still selling the dangerous lamps ... DO NOT BUY!!

Holly crap! If you or any of your friends have a twitter get all over it with this. It's a really good way of getting buisnesses to sit up and pay attention

Wow, that really needs to get taken more seriously - they need to be looking into a recall!! Have you talked to the press? Agree that Twitter might be a good shout, and then media might pick it up as well.

is it really melted wax inside them? And boiling temperatures? I didn't know that was how they worked. I assumed it was mild heating of some kind of gel/liquid and to do with a temperature difference in different places in the lamp.
