Washer Dryer reviews

Our tumble dryer caught fire last year and since then we have been going without. Summer was absolutely fine but since then I can't cope with the various amounts of washing hanging around the house and nothing seems to be drying without smelling vaguely of damp.

We are finally biting the bullet and getting a washer dryer but everyone is giving us such bad reviews. (We don't really want another tumble dryer as it took up so much room in our dining room.)

Has anyone got one that they really recommend?

They really are not worth it ... take a long time to do things badly.

Is there really no way to fit a dryer somewhere?

@Happiedays I have a washer dryer own brand from John Lewis which is made by AEG it’s a lot better than the previous Neff one, drys quicker has a large capacity drum & not so much creasing, it also have quite a few useful programmes & is quiet & came with a five year guarantee not as good as having separate machines but I’m limited in space as well, but am happy with it, so might be worth checking out.

Thank you both.

Theknacktoflying, we do but I think part of me is scared it will catch fire again and we really do enjoy the extra space. It was such a shock when it happened and luckily DH was there to sort it.

dontcallmelen. Thank you, I looked at those earlier and they have really good reviews so it's on the list.

Currently at the top of the list is a Samsung ecobubble one. Our budget is £500 but we are conscious we are really struggling with the drying so we are thinking we might need to spend a bit more to get an efficient one.

I like my Zanussi washer dryer. It took me a while to find the best way of using it. Had it for 3 years now and happy with it.

We have a Bosch one from John Lewis who I have to say we’re bloody brilliant at installing and coping with some weird house issues we didn’t know we had.
The washer dryer is ace! Quiet and effective. So so glad we went for it

We have a Candy one that it's pretty good. It has a handy 15 minute program and the drying of not huge loads takes between 1 and 2 hours. It's just 3 of us so I do get to see the bottom of the wash basket quite often if i keep on top of it.

We don't have enough room for separate and the flat is ridiculously flat and mouldy without me drying on radiators/racks so we need a washer dryer. So far it works great and clothes do come out dry.
