Please help me choose the right mattress

DD is 3yo, when we bought her single bed we bought the cheap mattress to go with it thinking we'd just replace it in a few months when hopefully she'd be toilet trained at night. Well many months have past, she isn't toilet trained at night but the mattress needs to go.

Have started looking but there's so many different types and prices my head hurts

Can anyone tell me what sort of mattress is best? I can't afford to spend too much so maybe one that'll last a couple of years would be good. Then she should be potty trained aswell, then we could change it again?

I have seen some quite thick mattress protectors too, are they worth buying to protect from wee? We have a waterproof sheet but they're not that great IMO.

Thanks for any help

morning!!!

We got ours from that bed centre at mid kent shopping centre (is it allinton?) think its called chris gammon or something our double divan and mattress was £149 and its fine

ps woke her up at 8.15 and she wants to stay in bed

Definitely get a matress protector. On the odd occassion where DS1 has wet himself it hasn't passed through the protecto, so all I've had to do is shove everything in the machine.

It's a bit of a cop out on the mattress front, but buy the best you can afford as your DD will be spending a lot of time on it. We got a good one from Dreams or somewhere and it was only a hundred quid or so. We tested by just lying on them and picking the nicest (which for us was one that wasn't too hard or too soft )(sound like goldilocks!!)

thanks! that's where we got our bed from. DD's came from somewhere else, can't remember name. Crap mattress but they did say it was crap at the time, lol

May go and have a look.

Enjoy the peace, doesn't happen very often, see you later

Waynetta, well we have no money so can't afford anything tbh, but will HAVE to buy it. I will get a mattress protactor then, a machine washable one. Thanks
