Just wondered if they were worth the money as seem quite expensive at £50. Anyone?

wht orare they?

Branster · 30/09/2004 13:07

deffinetely worth it for a newborn.
not cheap, true. dd was born in the winter and have to say she was very comfortable in one of those. we used a 3 wheeler thing and also added a head hugger. used to go walking for hours in those days and she would sleep constanly, all comfy even if the weather was very cold.

i hope you're talking about the lining thing that straps onto the buggy seat and has a top layer attached with a zip for baby's feet & legs to go in.

or is it something completely different???

exactly what i thought. our had a different design, and was from the same range as the buggy produced by the same company. it was waterproof on the outside and lined with some fleecy thing that looked like a sheep's coat (no idea what the exact term is, but all sythetic i think). see if the manufacturers of your own buggy make one and if it's any cheaper.

Sod it. Going to buy one. They've got a few on Kiddicare at the mo.

Don't know how much they are on Kiddicare but I got one from Blooming Marvellous recently which was £24.99 I think compared to £49 in the expensive nursety shop (same make!) The only had a choice of two designs though rather than the multitude on the website.

CelluliteQueen, I've got a beautiful one from the company you mentioned - it looks like wolfskin and is really cosy and lovely. DD is so snug in it and they definitely need something like that for winter. Blankets, no matter how well tucked in, just keep falling off.

I justified buying it on the basis that it was cheaper than the one that was meant to go with our buggy (a Jane one).

Ebay have loads on at the moment!.
We have 3 now and i find them a serious "must have".
Ours are by Snuggle Sac-one is an elephant,a lion and the 3rd is just fleece!.
Perfect for chilly morning school runs or market shopping!

cellulitequeen · 02/10/2004 10:53

pabla - thanks for that tip - will check out BM.

lulupop - sounds like the one I've got my eye on called "wolf". It's the most expensive but looks the most sumptuous.

finleysmum - thanks for that tip also, hadn't heard of snuggle sacs so will check them out. Am also "watching" a couple of Buggy Snuggles on e-bay at the mo.

that's right, CQ - it's gorgeous. go on, get it, you know you want to

cellulitequeen · 02/10/2004 21:55

You're right lulu - I do want one. Only the best for my DS (bank balance says otherwise) so will order one on Monday!

we've got one, but better than just a fleecy thing. I would say it was an indispensible part of baby equipment. i honestly would not put my child in a pushchair in the winter without one. they are absolutely necessary! tbh £50 for one that's just fleece is imo too expensive & not worth it. Ours is waterproff one the outside (good if it's just a light drizzle/sudden shower & lined with (fake) sheepskin, so much warmer than fleece.

Go for it, definitely. Make sure it's big enough - we got one & our son grew out of it. We got a second & it'll last forever - never thought it would be the sort of thing you grow out of, but our 1st one was stupid, but at least we've churned oout enpough kids to get use out of both!

cellulitequeen · 03/10/2004 21:59

Hi ernest - what make is yours?

I bought one from a WAHM called snuggletots - it was £22 and you can ask for any colour combination. snuggletots website
