Clothes - small sizes petite

hello

My BMI is 22, so in the middle of the normal range, am 5' 2" and weigh 8 and 3/4 stone. Finding trousers to fit (small enough) is a bit difficult. I've got broad shoulders so size 8-10 blouses fit me, which are very easy to find.

It does seem odd because I'm not even slim, let alone thin. I wonder what slim people do about finding trousers to fit?

In our local M&Co, for example, there doesn't seem to be much or anything in smaller sizes than a 12!

I have got a pair of size 6 trousers from Boden that fit me, and two from Esprit. I'd quite like to find less expensive clothes too though. I like straight leg in style.

Those of you who are petite height and wear size 6, have you got any tips about good shops for trousers?

Thanks Smile

Totally agree, it is really difficult to find decent petite trousers! Topshop petite jeans are good and I generally get petite size 6 trousers from M&S or Next, but the ranges are limited and I'd love to find something better quality in petite sizes.

I'm only 5ft 1 and I find next petite trousers too short.

Thanks for your replies Smile

What I have also found is that lengths are unreliable e.g. Esprit do 3 lengths (great!!!) but they can vary. They also do size 4, so they cover a good range along with their 3 lengths. I wish they had more shops where we could try the clothes on.

With Boden, a black pair of the navy version I had and love, were much narrower - weird because the quality was excellent. I exchanged the black pair for a size up (8) which are ok, just about not too loose.

I do like those two makes for trousers, but we need more don't we!

People looking for larger sizes are sometimes quite rightly vocal about it. I haven't heard people looking for petite smaller sizes speaking up.

Has anyone tried children's ranges? I haven't for clothes although I recently bought a nice pair of children's shoes for myself (size 6) for £20.
