SAD light alarm clocks

Does anyone have any recommendations/experience with these things? My DH wants to get one but the problem is we wake up at slightly different times (he gets up 15 minutes earlier and makes tea…). I also assume that you would need a regular clock in the summer.

You can use the alarm clock in your smartphone

I've got a Philips one. It's a regular clock as well as the light.

The light never wakes me up gradually so the alarm wakes me but it is nice to have the light on low so as not to blind me.

Not worth the ££ though

A lumie light. I've had one for years, and it's definitely worth it in winter. So much nicer being slowly woken when it's pitch black outside. I dont use it in the summer though.

Use alarm on your phone? Daft comment.

I have a Lumie. The light comes on slowly for a good half hour before the sound alarm, so you could then have a phone alarm 15 min later.

Works perfectly well in summer too - even if you didn't have curtains, it's not like the sun a foot from your face!

I tried one but it failed to wake me with the light.I gave it to a friend who found it beneficial.

Yeah, I've got really thin curtains so do have the sun directly in my face. If you have decent curtains it'd still be of use this time of year
