Past dated newspapers?

Hi, I would like to get a hold of a newspaper issued on day of ds birth... bit late I know. Does anyone know how I go about getting hold of a past dated Sunday newspaper? Only a month ago - 29 August 2004.

Or indeed does anyone happen to have one lying in a heap of papers in their house?

All help greatly appreciated!

Have a look here

wh smith online have a link on the site where you can order old newspapers (virtually any paper you want for a long way back) you'd have to pay ofcourse but it comes with a choice of folders etc. i got one for DH's birthday and it was great present. and before DD was born i made a special request to DH to go out and buy The Times for that day, also got my parents to buy one of the national papers on that day (they live abroad) so DD will know what happened in both countries on her birth date. i think it's a nice idea. good luck with finding it.

It's also a good idea to get the paper from the following day, which reports what actually happened on the day the child was born.

Thanks. Call me tight, but i begrudge spending £50 odd when it was only a month ago....

lou33 - thanks for that. will try it again tomorrow as the 'order now' button doesn't seem to be working for me tonight.

would you believe it?! just had a look on the whsmith site and can't see anything remotely related to newspapers or old papers for that matter! it's all changed now. hmmm...will have a look tomorrow see if it says anything on the box DH's paper came with and let you know here either way. i'm sorry to have gotton your hopes up... but i clearly remember ordering it from there, or at least got a phone number from their site.

ja9 - I have in front of me the Sunday Times for August 29th - would you like me to send it to you?

Miaou · 29/09/2004 23:25

It's got the picture of Kelly Holmes on the front page winning gold, so a nice "positive" picture!
