Backgammon Board - For 8 year old

Kayleigh · 29/09/2004 15:33

Promised a friend I would buy her dd a backgammon board for her 8th birthday as she was keen to learn. But now looking they all seem to be quite swish (boxes, leather etc) and cost a lot more than i wanted to spend.
.
I really want a board game type one. And I don't want to spend more than £15.

Do they exist ?

This one is a travel one but looks nice in a wooden case.

Kayleigh · 29/09/2004 15:53

Hmmm, I did see that one in my search - but comes to £19 with delivery so a bit out of my price range

any more ?

Did you try Ebay?

I found \link{http://dealtime.uk.catalogcity.com/cc.class/cc?pcd=6737100&ccsyn=517\this one for £7 plus P&P but it appears to be the board only, no pieces.

SoupDragon · 29/09/2004 15:58

SoupDragon · 29/09/2004 16:01

HOw about this one which is for children. £12.99 plus P&P of about £3.99 (extortionate!)

Kayleigh · 29/09/2004 16:13

oh soupy, that quick one looks great, would be perfect. Will ring my local toyshop and see if they can get it in for me and save the P&P. I'm not a tightarse but really resent paying £4 postage on an item that only costs £13.

Extortionate wasn't it?

Kayleigh · 29/09/2004 16:29

maybe they would send it round by limo ?

Local toyshop couldn't help - but found this
9.99 + delivery totals £12.97.

Sorted ! Thanks for your help Soupy.
