yes, it does have to look nice - i am fussy about these things

found myself considering the siemens porsche one but sleep deprivation must be making me fail to notice that £100 is a lot of money for a kettle

I have a gorgeous kettle that I love to pieces and always cheers me up. I don't have a name for it but bought it at debenhams 2 years ago. It is silver with a pink rubber handle inset and whistles but not loudly at all!

My kettle looks v like the one in the bottom L hand corner in WTP's link. I like it because the whole floor of the kettle heats the water so it heats v quickly, and doesn't have an element to fur up - just a smooth flat bottom (like my own...not)

I don't happen to like the look of jug kettles, or anything which looks 'over-designed' and will jar with other design elements of your kitchen.

We have a Magimix one from JOhn Lewis www.johnlewis.com/Home+and+Garden/Kitchen/Kitchen+Accessories/Kettles/539/0/0/ProductType.aspx
Pricey but has 2 year guarantee. Also seen a smart Bodum steel one which is v smart
